On April 3rd, two hours will be dedicated to kimono dressing at the Liberty Place Rotunda. But if two hours are not enough for you, Sensei Fumiyo Batta will be leading a kimono class consisting of four two-hour long sessions. The class will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on April 17 and 24 and May 1 and 8, and will cover dressing, accessory use, and the history and traditions of kimono culture.
The class will cost $100 for JASGP members and $120 for non-members. Space is limited, so register online here.
Students must provide their own undergarments (slips, t-shirts) and are encouraged bring their own kimono and accessories (obi, socks and sandals). These will be available for practice in class only. After each class, students are also encouraged to practice at home.
We recommend the online seller Ichiroya for purchasing kimono and accessories.
