At 7pm this Friday, April 26th, we hope you’ll have your best Bash attire ready, because that’s when the Hyatt at the Bellevue ballroom will officially open for this year’s Blossom Bash. Entertainment (taiko drums will welcome you in), refreshment (cocktails and sushi hors d’oeuvres), and good company will be waiting for you. One of the main highlights of the evening, the silent auction, will give bidders a shot at a suite at a Phillies-Reds game this May; art both modern and traditional; sushi-making classes; and airfare not just to Japan, but to anywhere United Airlines flies. As you can tell from the links, though, we have an exciting new addition this year: thanks to the help of 501 Auctions, it’s now possible for even those who can’t make it out to the Bash to join the bidding, open until Friday, the night of the Bash, at 10pm.
With the Cherry Blossom Festival month winding to a close, it seems like April came on just as suddenly, was just as vibrant, and then left just as quickly as the sakura that brought thousands of attendees out to Sakura Sunday on April 14th. We love to see so many people appreciating both nature and Japanese culture, and we’re excited to be able to bring more people than ever the chance to bid on these exciting items, and in doing so help us make the Festival even better in years to come. Let’s send this exciting month off with an elegant celebration of what made it so great.
