Making their debut at Sakura Sunday in 2017 is MIZMO, an Enka group with a unique harmony of 3 voices covering high, main, and low ranges of singing. The girl’s trio is hitting the main stage this year for an epic premiere of the traditional-style of modern popular Japanese music that is Enka.
The trio consists of Nao, the leader of MIZMO in charge of high notes, Neko, delivering low notes, and Akane, who will provide main vocals. Nao graduated from Musashino University, a school specializing in music. Akane was a champion of NHK’S music program before she was scouted by the famous pop and Enka music producer, Hideo Mizumori. As for the mysterious Neko, the newest member of the group, her origin is thus far unknown, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t hold her own in this power dynamic.
MIZMO has had multiple successful performances including SILENCIO and Japan Expo in Paris with audiences of up to 300.000 people.
If you want to catch their live performance at the festival, the Enka group goes on Main Stage at 12:45pm, so don’t miss it!
