Once again the sakura season is coming to an end. As new flowering trees take up the mantle of spring, we at JASGP are wrapping up the finishing touches on another Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival. This was a record setting year for us and we are so grateful for their continued support. Sakura Sunday reached 15,000 attendees this year, a mind blowing feat for those who remember the tree planting days 20 years ago. It is gratifying beyond words to see how deeply Philadelphia has embraced this Japanese tradition and we look forward to 20 more years with you all.
So to our sponsors and partners, vendors and volunteers, performers and participants, to the runners and walkers, the families and friends, to everyone who made the 2017 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival what it was, we thank you all for a wonderful spring! We’ll continue to share pictures and videos as we get them. We’ll be back again in 2018, but in the meantime, check in at www.japanphilly.org and www.japanesehouse.org for all the Japanese goings on in Philly.
One last thing. Mark down April 15, 2018 in your calendars for our next Sakura Sunday.
