Come to scenic Morris Arboretum for a celebration of Japanese culture. On both April 7 and April 14, the famed garden will offer guided tours of both the many flowering trees and the Japanese garden elements, as well as performances by Philadelphia’s community taiko group, Kyo Daiko.
On April 7, guests can take in a kenjutsu Japanese sword demonstration from River of Life Martial Arts & Wellness Center and a ryurei-style tea ceremony – a 19th-century table-based version devised to accommodate Westerners.
On April 14, guests can take in a display and demonstration of Japanese kimono by Fumiyo Batta and learn to make origami cranes with Yuki Flores.
