Q: How long is the class?

A: Regular sessions meet for 15 total class hours over 10 weeks. Special sessions meet for 10 total class hours over 5 weeks.

Q: Where are the classes?

A: Classes are held in University City at International House Philadelphia (3701 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104).

Q: What is the best way to get there?

A: International House is easily accessible by public transportation and is a three-block walk from the 34th street stop on the Market-Frankford line, one block from the 36th street stops on any of the trolley lines, and nearby many bus stops, including the 21 bus, which stops just outside the building on the corner of 37th and Chestnut streets. Metered street parking for $2 per hour (free after 8 PM) is available on Chestnut and Market Streets. Discounted parking for guests of IHP is also available at the Sheraton University City parking garage, located at 3549 Chestnut Street. Bring your parking receipt to the front desk for a validation stamp to receive $2.00 off regular hourly rates. The garage is open 24-hours.

Q: Can I bring my own textbooks?

A: You don’t have to purchase your textbooks from JASGP, but please be sure the you buy the correct edition of the books. The ISBN for the textbooks are as follows:

Q: Is there an age requirement/limit?

A: Students must be 18 years of age to participate.

Q: What is your refund/cancellation policy?

A: Classes canceled due to low enrollment (under 6 students) will receive full refunds. No refunds will be given past the registration deadline for students who wish to withdraw from class.

Q: Can I change classes?

A: You may switch to another offered class if your teacher agrees, but you must do so prior to the 3rd class meeting.

Q: Do I get credit for these classes?

A: JASGP is not an accredited institution. Students who satisfactorily complete the class can receive a certificate of completion upon request.
